Four makeshift hospitals were completed within 48 hours at Qingdao Liuting International Airport in East China's Shandong province in response to the growing number of imported COVID-19 cases.
The hospitals were immediately put into operation on Wednesday to check the health conditions of inbound passengers.
The airport is one of 12 domestic airports where all Beijing-bound flights must reroute first before heading to the capital city, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of China.
