A series of classic Peking opera performances will be staged in Beijing during a brand new show season featuring young artists from the China National Peking Opera Company.
The 23-day show season will kick off on Oct 2, the second day of the week-long National Day holiday, presenting 14 performances of outstanding plays of the company including the folk legend-adapted opera piece Lotus Lantern.
President of the company Song Chen said the performances will provide a platform for young performers to show their skills and serve as part of a long-term mechanism to cultivate a group of young talent for the company.
