Xiamen focuses on intl shipping market

A scientific and innovation-oriented center for international shipping businesses was inaugurated in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on June 18.

The building resembles a huge container with tech-savvy functions such as remote controls for bridges and gantry cranes.

An official said that it is set to play a key role in presenting a first-class business environment and attracting more foreign investment.

Located at east Dongdu Port Area in Xiamen, the center will also demonstrate the favorable business environment of the area.

A person in charge from Xiamen Container Terminal Group said that the port has completed its upgrading of a remote controlled automated intelligent operation system.
