Construction kicks off on Shanxi utility tunnel

Construction kicked off on a utility tunnel for Xiaohe Industrial Park in Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone on June 11, according to officials.

Contracted by China Railway 14th Bureau Group for 830 million yuan ($119.93 million), the utility tunnel will run from Renmin Road to Taitai Road at a length of 5.89 kilometers.

The construction involves utility lines such as electricity, water and sewer pipes, fiber optics, cable television and telephone cables.
