Regulations affecting visitors from overseas
The regions in which foreigners can travel are divided into four categories.
Business and office hours
Generally office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or even longer from Monday to Friday. The office is closed during public holidays.
Public holidays in China
Weekends are usually swapped with the weekdays next to the actual holiday to create a longer vacation period.
Foreigners travel with vehicles
Tourism management agency of the province or municipality where the applicant is located.
China Visitor Hotline
Tourists can make domestic long distance calls or international calls from their hotel room and the call charge will be added into the hotel expense.

Tipping
Tipping is not practiced in China. A service charge is generally added on to the final bill in restaurants.
VAT Tax Refund
When an overseas traveler leaves the country from the departure port, he or she can receive the refund of value-added tax on items purchased at tax refund shops.
Currency exchange
The renminbi (literally “people’s currency” ) is the legal tender in Chinese mainland.
