National Luoyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Central China's Henan province was founded in 1992 and upgraded to a national-level development zone in October 2012 by the State Council.
Occupying an area of 420 hectares, the zone lies in the heartland of Luoyang’s overall planning during the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2005-2010). It boasts a three-dimensional transportation network, with the Zhengzhou-Xi’an High-Speed Railway, Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway, Erlianhaote-Guangzhou National Highway, Longmen Avenue, Lianyungang-Lanzhou Railway, and Lianhuo Expressway passing through the zone. It is 15 and 8 kilometers from Luoyang Beijiao Airport and Luoyang customs respectively.
Over years of development, the zone’s three leading industries, photovoltaic, equipment manufacturing, and new materials have witnessed a steady growth. In 2012, its regional GDP recorded 27.2 billion yuan (4 billion), and the total industrial output value reached 70.4 billion yuan.
