Hebi National Economic and Technological Development Zone, also known as Jinshan industry cluster district, was founded in November 1992 and approved to be a provincial-level zone in December of the same year. In December 2008, it was upgraded into a national-level development zone with a total area of 29 square kilometers.
Located in the center of the north Henan city cluster, the zone enjoys a convenient transportation network with roads and railways extending in all directions. Jingguang (Beijing-Guangzhou) Railway, the north-south artery, and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway pass through the zone. It is also only 49 kilometers away from An’yang and 152 km away from Zhengzhou.
Viewed as a window of Hebi’s opening-up efforts, the zone is now home to more than 400 enterprises, including 26 industrial enterprises above a designated size. Over 26 years of development, its two leading industries, namely auto parts and electronics, as well as deep processing of magnesium products have become key growth poles and driving forces for economic development in Hebi.
According to a comprehensive evaluation released by the Ministry of Commerce in early January, the zone was ranked 116th among the 219 national economic and technological development zones in 2018, standing second in the province after Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
