Xinwu Economic Development Zone was established in 2001 in Wuhu county, Anhui province. It is a State-level green park and one of the national demonstrations areas for transformation and upgrading in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Located in the mid-eastern part of Anhui, Wuhu county is two hours’ drive from Nanjing Lukou Airport and Hefei Luogang Airport. With the Ningwu, Huyu, Wuhe and Handan expressways passing through the county, motorists can reach Nanjing in two hours, Hangzhou in three hours, and Shanghai in four hours.

The development zone focuses on the equipment manufacturing industry. It has formed three industrial clusters: auto parts, electronic appliances, and new energy and new materials. It is also actively cultivating three strategic emerging industries: general aviation, robotics, intelligent equipment and photoelectric information. There are 627 enterprises in the zone. A number of major enterprises such as Delixi Electric, Feike Electric Appliances and Keyi Residential Equipment, have settled in the zone.

In 2016, the zone achieved a total industrial output value of 58.90 billion yuan ($8.72 billion). It also attracted 25 new industrial enterprises above designated size. The industrial output value of industries above designated size totaled 56.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.61 percent, and industrial added value reached 13.34 billion yuan, a growth of 15.92 percent.
