Organized by the Guizhou government and Guangming Daily, a seminar to discuss theories on reform and opening-up over the past 40 years was held on Dec 5 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The aim of the seminar was to discuss political, economic, cultural and environmental developments throughout the process of reform and opening-up, analyze regional development strategies, and offer advice and suggestions on how to build a prosperous society.
Experts from Guangming Daily, the Guizhou government, Guizhou media outlets, the Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences and universities participated in the discussion and offered suggestions on deepening reform and further opening-up to the outside world.
Experts acknowledged the efforts Guizhou has made in poverty alleviation and economic development, and hoped for a brighter future for the province.
