The Inner Mongolia Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, housing over 209,000 pieces/sets of collections (2025 statistics). They span from Paleolithic era to artifacts from the Ming and Qing (1368-1911) dynasties, varying from paleontological specimens to ethnic artifacts and revolutionary relics.

The museum presents 10 permanent exhibitions, exploring themes ranging from prehistoric life and ancient history to revolutionary struggles, cultural exchanges along the Great Wall, folk and ethnic crafts and arts, ecological diversity, and Inner Mongolia’s role in China’s space program.

In addition, the museum regularly presents temporary exhibitions and diverse public education programs. With its spacious environment, captivating displays, and interactive experiences, the Inner Mongolia Museum is no doubt a major window into the culture of northern China and an important platform for visitors to learn Chinese civilization.
