"Nowadays more and more people show an interest in tai chi and many foreigners have participated in it," added Tian.
A year-two student from Africa studying in the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, surnamed Holmes came to Yangzhou especially for the competition.
"I was very interested in Chinese culture before I came to study in China", said Holmes, "People in my home country are not fully aware of how to maintain their health. After finishing my studies in China, I hope to promote tai chi in Africa."
"I've long heard about Yangzhou and its delicious cuisine, but after my arrival, I found the city also has beautiful scenery. I plan to have an extensive deep tour of Yangzhou to better understand the city after my competition," said Holmes.
