The total industrial output value and industrial added value of the new energy auto industry in Guizhou reached 3.83 billion yuan ($563.9 million) and 1.34 billion yuan, respectively, in 2015. This added value represents an increase of 57.36%. The total number of new energy vehicles in Guiyang, Zunyi, Bijie, Anshun, Liupanshui and Qiandongnan reached 5,000 units.

Guizhou will focus on developing a variety of new energy vehicle technologies, such as electric driving systems, fuel cell systems, motor manufacturing technology, safety matching of charging equipment and inflatable charging terminal products, and energy storage system technology. It hopes to raise the total output value of new energy vehicles to 12 billion yuan.

In addition, Guizhou will research slow charging equipment, vehicle-mounted charging equipment, super powered fast charging equipment and fast battery-switching equipment. It will also encourage research and development of charging facility networks, metering, charging, monitoring and other technologies, and promote the development and industrialization of energy conversion, charging, battery testing, maintenance technology and equipment integrated with smart grids.

The province will speed up the development of safety equipment for charging stations and gas stations to form a complete industrial system. A new energy vehicle policy framework system should be set up and the guidance and support of financial and tax policies should be strengthened to promote the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Guizhou has developed a charging facility system and a new energy vehicle business model suitable for the market size in 2017, and plans to create a large-scale commercial operation of charging facility networks to meet the need of intercity and regional electric vehicles by 2020.
