Located about 58 kilometers southeast of Guyang county, Mount Ma’an has an altitude of 1,984 meters above sea level.
Ma’an in Mandarin means horse saddle, because looking up from its base the mountain appears to be in the shape of a saddle. Being a part of the Jiufeng Mountain Natural Reserve, the Ma’an Mountain boasts the beauty of a primeval forest.
