Macao delegates complete study tour to Guangdong

A 100-member delegation consisting of members of the CPPCC and youth representatives from Mocao Special Administrative Region (SAR) completed a three-day study tour to nine cities in Guangdong province on July 18.

Led by Edmund Ho Hau Wah, vice president of CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), the delegation, divided into four groups, carried out field trips to various industrial parks, innovation centers and incubators in the cities of Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing. 

Delegates also held talks with Guangdong government officials, focusing on topics of the planning and construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, scientific and technological innovation, youth innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Greater Bay Area opens up to the whole country, as well as the world, Ho pointed out. "People of Macao shall make full use of resources beyond the area, and push forward the development of the city cluster."

In the future, Macao and Guangdong will embrace close cooperation in constructing the new area and make fruitful results, said Zheng Xiaosong, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR.

Young people from Macao SAR shall seize the opportunity and give full play to their talents, Zheng added.

Guangdong province has been actively pushing forward infrastructure connectivity, offering guarantee in aspects of mechanism, channels and resources for the youth coming to the province and contributing their part to the steady progress and prosperity in the region.
