The largest crystal fireworks in Asia, coming in 30 dazzling colors and shapes, were set off at Huangqishan City Park on June 22, kicking off the first Dongcheng Tourism Festival in Dongguan, Guangdong province.
More than 30 forms of entertainment are available to domestic and overseas tourists at the event, which will last until late September.

Deng Tao, Party secretary of Dongcheng area, said during the press conference that "when given the opportunity, Dongcheng will promote the construction of urban scenic spots and develop a series of local tourism brands."
Dongcheng is home to Dongguan's central business district and central leisure district, and has recently experienced vigorous development in the fields of finance, trade, tourism and culture. It has a vibrant atmosphere for innovation and creativity.
In addition to promoting tourism products, the three-month-long event will serve as a great platform to enhance exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promote international commerce and trade, and help potential market projects.

Focusing on five themes, the event portrays the southern Chinese city as global, modern, young, artistic and livable.
"The tourism festival aims to be a grand gathering for all citizens, giving them on opportunity to share in the city's achievements, and to attract tourists and business people interested in visiting and investing in Dongguan," Deng said.
