The launch of the ASEAN Investment and Trade Alliance was announced at the assembly of the Guangdong Chamber of International Commerce in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on June 20.
The chamber has made great contributions to the promotion of the South China province's foreign trade, expanding overseas investment and improving international business-related legal services, as well as the development of the Belt and Road initiative, said Zhang Yi, deputy general secretary of the organization.

A mutual fund to help Guangdong enterprises expand overseas is currently being discussed. It will likely offer member enterprises short-term financing services.
In addition, a legal aid fund and aid lawyer pool will also be established to better serve member enterprises and help them expand overseas.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Guangdong Chamber of International Commerce, which currently has more than 7,300 members. Over the past six years, the chamber has organized or helped organize around 130 events and activities to promote investment and trade.
Next, the chamber plans to further improve its global brand influence, enhance its role as a comprehensive service provider, and complete internal management, Zhang explained.
