The fair is the largest event in China to promote exchanges between the academic and corporate sectors to achieve better commercial use of research findings.

About 10,000 items were presented by 350 foreign and domestic universities, in fields such as smart equipment, microelectronics, big data and communications, marine science, precision medicine, new energy, and artificial intelligence.

According to the fair's organizer, about 2,500 innovative tech items potentially in demand by the corporate sector were submitted before the fair kicked off.

The fair also saw two major investments, worth 35 billion yuan, in the platform for the commercialization of scientific and technological innovations.

"Huizhou will continue to open to global innovation resources and make innovation a strong driver of high-quality development, and will also work toward becoming a leader in the commercialization of research findings in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," said Chen Yiwei, Party secretary of Huizhou.

The Huizhou government signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with five participants, including the Institute of Modern Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conservation (Chinese Academy of Sciences), vowing to collaborate on the construction of a modern physics and clean energy laboratory.
