On May 7, Zhou Liujun, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), held talks with David Muldrow Beasley, the executive director of the U.N. World Food Programme (WFP).
They exchanged views on the establishment of the CIDCA and China's cooperation with the WFP.

Zhou extended a warm welcome to Beasley and said that the establishment of the CIDCA is a major initiative of the Chinese government to maintain world peace and promote common development.
China is ready to strengthen communication with the WFP and enhance mutual trust to implement Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promote the Belt and Road Initiative and build a community of shared future for mankind, Zhou added.
Beasley said that the establishment of the CIDCA is of strategic importance and will help to strengthen China's foreign aid, narrow down the South-North gap and promote international cooperation, world peace and development.
He indicated that the WFP looks forward to increased communication and cooperation with the CIDCA in the implementation of Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in ending hunger.
