Marine Industry

Shenzhen's marine industry has begun to take shape, and is now comprised of three major cutting-edge industries (the marine transport and shipping industry, the marine oil and gas industry, and the coastal tourism industry) as well as a group of newly emerging marine industries (best represented by the marine e-information, marine biology, and marine high-end equipment industries). At present, Shenzhen's total marine output is valued at about 120 billion yuan. Two of the better known Shenzhen-based marine enterprises are China Merchants Holdings (International) Co., Ltd. and China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.
