Founded in 1952, Yantai Hospital for Infectious Disease is the only infectious diseases hospital in Yantai city. It equips 280 hospital beds and medical departments for liver disease, infectious disease, respiratory disease, traditional Chinese disease and oncology disease.

The hospital has a series of advanced medical facilities covering Intensive Care Unit (ICU) System, automatic biochemical immune analysis system, and digital gastrointestinal machine and spiral CT.

In 2002, the hospital established “Yantai Liver Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Research Center” and "Yantai Hepatobiliary Treatment Center" which are the national training base for artificial liver technology, ultrasonic imaging technology and the genetic testing base.
