
Glutinous rice sesame ball
These sesame balls are quite common street fare in Shanghai and date back as far as the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). They have certainly been popular with Shanghai residents for decades and have evolved over time to include different ingredients, with a crispy, sweet and waxy flavor.
