Pichaiyuan, originally called Jiangning Road, is located in the CBD on Zhongshan Road. In the 1920s, it became a pedestrian street, and was then renamed Pichaiyuan. There are more than twenty courtyards in Pichaiyuan which are concentrated areas for business, dining, and entertainment. It is a popular destination for Qingdao residents.
