The civil affairs bureau of Guyang county in Baotou city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, recently carried out a census of rural left-behind children –– minors whose parents work away from home –– and set up a database for them.
According to statistics, Guyang has 133 rural stay-at-home children, 146 living in poverty, and 42 orphans.
The bureau authorities have helped three orphans register on the bureau’s system and have helped one orphan to find a guardian and attend school.
