Yangzhou's urban illumination department announced on March 9 that the city in Jiangsu province is to light up its nightscape.
Yangzijiang Road, a 14-kilometer-long arterial road running through the south to the north, will be a major part of the project.
The new design will be themed on "Glorious Yangzhou", and will integrate color intensities, luminance, and audio and virtual-real effects to inspire Yangzhou's modern development, livability, prosperity and innovativeness.
The department said the construction will be divided into two phases and is expected to be completed before June.
By that time, the road, with skillfully placed lights, will become a brand new landmark throwing the city's time-honored and modernized images into clear relief.
