Shenzhen's total import and export value in the first two months of 2018 reached a whopping 452.9 billion yuan ($71.6 billion), an increase of 35.5 percent compared with the same period last year.
According to statistics from the Guangdong Sub-administration of China Customs, the import and export volume for Guangdong province hit one trillion yuan, up 17.4 percent year on year and accounting for 22.8 percent of China's total import and export volume.
Sixteen cities in Guangdong have seen a positive year-on-year growth rate in import and export volume, with Shenzhen ranking first with 35.5 percent, followed by Zhuhai with 29.4 percent and Meizhou with 28.1 percent.
