Shenzhen to host conference on international exchange of professionals

The southern Chinese city of Shenzhen will host a special conference on international talent exchange in April.

The Conference on International Exchange of Professionals, or the CIEP, is the largest of its kind and the best exchange platform for foreign experts, overseas training agencies and professionals. It was launched by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in 2001 and was previously hosted in Jiangsu and Liaoning provinces. The event moved to Shenzhen, Guangdong province in 2007 and has been successfully held in the city for 10 years.

Taking "Integration of Global Intelligence and Promoting Common Development" as its main theme, the 2018 CIEP will be held on April 14 and 15 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, with secondary venues in Hong Kong and Shenzhen's Bao'an and Longhua districts. Germany, as the guest country of honor for this year's event, will host a matchmaking activity between some key Shenzhen-based enterprises and associations and universities in Germany.

The Hong Kong venue, hosting the event for the first time, will feature key companies in Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta and will offer over 3,000 jobs to Hong Kong talents, professionals and graduates from Hong Kong universities. Forums will also be held featuring discussions between experts, scholars and officials on topics such as talent cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and attracting more talent from Hong Kong to Shenzhen.

Job fairs, forums attended by academicians, match-making events for anticipated projects, and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions will be held during the two-day event in Bao'an, while the Longhua event will feature a festival for international overseas talent as well as special meetings attended by Nobel Prize winners.
