Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held its eighth tourism promotion conference on Sept 27.
Having taken place seven times since 2008, the tourism conference has become an important platform for promoting the integration of tourism and other industries in order to boost regional economy.
This year's event took place in Qingzhen, a county-level city in Guiyang. The conference awarded the top 10 dishes and shops in the province and also recommended four self-driving tour routes in an attempt to attract more tourists.
Host city Qingzhen depends on its resource advantages to explore the path of 'tourism plus' through promoting the integration of tourism and other industries into a regional pattern. In the first half of 2017, Qingzhen welcomed 7.15 million tourists achieving an income of 4.3 billion yuan.
