Metro Line 2 section tunneled in Guiyang

After nine months of construction, the section of Metro Line 2 connecting West Lincheng Road and West Guanshan Road has been successfully tunneled in Guiyang, local media reported on Sept 12.

The tunnel, designed as a double-track single line, stretches 952.35 meters. A number of complicated engineering techniques in were employed during the construction to ensure the stability and safety of the underground landscape.

Metro Line 2 in Guiyang began construction in December 2015. The project is expected to be finished in 2020, stretching 24 stations through the downtown area of the city to the suburb Baiyun district.
