After 686 days of relentless effort, the main tunnel of the Dali River Flood Diversion Project in Suide county, Yulin city, Shaanxi province, achieved full breakthrough on Aug 5. This milestone significantly enhances the region's flood defense capabilities.

This accomplishment marks a critical milestone in this key water conservancy and livelihood project in Shaanxi province, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction phases such as inverted arch backfilling and secondary lining, and expediting the project's completion and commissioning.

The Dali River Flood Diversion Tunnel Project in Suide county is a pivotal post-disaster reconstruction effort following the catastrophic July 26 flood in Yulin city. It serves as a benchmark water conservancy project in Suide county.

The main tunnel stretches 4,667 meters, with both height and width measuring 12 meters, and is designed to handle a flood diversion flow rate of 800 cubic meters per second, adhering to a high-standard flood control design based on a 30-year flood event.

China Railway Seventh Group is responsible for the N2 section, which includes the construction of a 2,266-meter main tunnel, exit culverts, road reconstruction, and comprehensive safety monitoring, forming a crucial part of the entire flood control system.
