Two iconic Song Dynasty (960-1279) bronze bells from Liaoning Provincial Museum – the imperial processional bell and the chime bell with inscriptions of "Da Sheng" and "Nanlü Zhongsheng" – are now on display at the exhibition Recasting the Past: The Art of Chinese Bronzes, 1100-1900 ongoing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
As one of the most significant exhibitions of Chinese bronzes in recent years, it showcases the evolution of bronze artistry from tradition to innovation during the time period.
