Liu Ziqing, Party secretary of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) administrative committee, met with Valeo Global CEO Christophe Perillat on March 27 to enhance cooperation.

Valeo, a pioneering company in the mobility sector with over a century of history, excels in electrification, advanced driver-assistance systems, comprehensive intelligent lighting, and software-defined vehicle technologies.

It has expanded three times since establishing its presence in WEDZ in 1995, resulting in a lighting systems plant, an R&D center, and a global software technology center.

The R&D center unites two major teams specializing in intelligent systems and vision systems, alongside Valeo's global technology center. With over 1,500 R&D personnel, this center represents one-third of Valeo's total R&D workforce in China.

Among the team's notable innovations is an ultra-thin high and low beam module, just 15 millimeters high, which has been exported to the European market.

Liu highlighted WEDZ's commitment to developing an export-oriented economy, aiming to transform "China Auto Valley" into a "World Auto Valley", and expressed hope that Valeo Group would continue investing in the zone, bringing in high-quality resources and facilitating the introduction of new products and technologies.

Liu assured that authorities are dedicated to fostering a market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment to support Valeo Group's growth and market expansion.

Perillat affirmed Valeo's commitment to digital transformation, pledging to increase investment in electrification and intelligent technologies, aligning with the zone's growth objectives.
