As a Canadian citizen, I heard that China has changed its visa requirements for us. Can I now travel there without a visa, and how long can I stay if that’s the case?

Q: As a Canadian citizen, I heard that China has changed its visa requirements for us. Can I now travel there without a visa, and how long can I stay if that’s the case?

A: Yes! Starting Feb 17, China has added Canada to its visa-free policy list. Now you can travel to China without a visa and stay for up to 30 days.

Nationals holding valid ordinary passports from Canada can enter China visa-free and stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes.

The visa waiver policy for Canadian citizens will remain effective until Dec 31, 2026.
