Located in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), the new factory of Nantong DIC Color Co began operations on Nov 3, marking a new chapter of high-quality growth for the company that has been rooted in Nantong for more than 20 years.
DIC Corporation, a global market leader in printing inks, organic pigments, and functional resins, invested nearly $40 million to establish Nantong DIC Color at NETDA in 2001. Last year, the company's output was valued at 800 million yuan ($112.22 million), with products sold worldwide.
In December 2023, the company invested 700 million yuan to establish a new factory in NETDA, integrating research and development, production, and logistics. This move shows its confidence in Nantong's future growth and aims to boost the regional new materials industry.
Takashi Ikeda, president of DIC Corporation, said that the new factory will fully incorporate green, smart, and innovative concepts, employing internationally advanced production processes and environmental standards. The goal is to establish it as a leading global research and manufacturing base for fine chemicals.
As one of the first batch of national-level economic and technological development zones, NETDA has consistently focused on high-standard opening-up and now attracts thousands of foreign-funded enterprises from over 40 countries and regions.
