Jiangsu Rudong Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Nantong, Jiangsu province, will focus on marine-oriented development and leverage its advantages in coastal resources to promote the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, build a distinctive marine industry system, and strive to build itself into a benchmark of high-quality development along the eastern coast of Jiangsu.
Zhou Liang, an official from the zone, said that the zone will highlight the importance of project construction and focus on building three major industrial clusters. For instance, the zone will use its infrastructure such as Jinniu Wharf to attract projects in shipbuilding and chemical equipment.
Zhou added that the zone will focus on building innovative platforms to facilitate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into real-world applications, while also regularly carrying out campus tours for the marine industry and engaging with high-level talent, including academician teams.
In terms of energy level expansion, the zone will enhance navigation cooperation with major ports. It will ensure that Ninggang Wharf, which is being jointly developed with Nanjing Port, starts operations in the second half of the year.
