Yes, you can. If you are a transit passenger with valid international travel documents and an onward ticket to a third country, and you are from one of the 55 designated countries, you are generally allowed to travel between 24 provinces and municipalities within the designated areas. You can also exit from any of the 60 eligible ports within these provinces and municipalities. (Keep in mind that the lists of eligible countries and ports are subject to updates. The visa-free transit area covers 24 provinces and municipalities in the Chinese mainland: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Shaanxi.
Among them:
In Shanxi province: limited to Taiyuan and Datong; In Heilongjiang: limited to Harbin;
In Jiangxi province: limited to Nanchang and Jingdezhen;
In Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region: limited to 12 cities comprising Nanning, Guilin, Liuzhou, Qinzhou, Beihai, Laibin, Fangchenggang, Wuzhou, Guigang, Yulin, Hezhou, and Hechi;
In Sichuan province: limited to 11 cities comprising Chengdu, Leshan, Deyang, Suining, Meishan, Ya’an, Ziyang, Neijiang, Zigong, Luzhou, and Yibin;
In Yunnan province: limited to nine cities/prefectures comprising Kunming, Lijiang, Yuxi, Pu’er, Chuxiong, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Honghe, and Wenshan.
The visa-free transit policy does not apply to the following seven provinces and autonomous regions: Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Xizang, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang, as they have not implemented the policy.
