Several projects were signed at the 19th Hubei·Wuhan-Taiwan Week – Cross-Strait (Wuhan) AI Industry Cooperation and Exchange Conference on July 4, injecting new momentum into the integrated development of AI industries between Wuhan and Taiwan.
The Hubei Intelligent Medicine Society and Taiwan Technology Industry Association jointly established the "Cross-Strait Intelligent Medicine Joint Laboratory," aiming to build a talent resource think tank and promote academic exchanges and cooperation in intelligent medicine.
According to Lin Zhe'an, chairman of the Taiwan Technology Industry Association, the laboratory will offer courses to boost cooperation in the development of cross-Strait intelligent medicine industries.
The Wuhan Taiwan Enterprises Association also signed an agreement with Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) to utilize their respective resource advantages and jointly drive the development of OVC's AI industries.
OVC invited Taiwan guests to visit its AI research institutions, such as the PKU-Wuhan Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and organized investment matchmaking meetings. Companies like Aikai Medical and Mind Flowing conducted roadshows and engaged in targeted discussions with multiple investment institutions, focusing on technology transfer and collaborative needs.
OVC is now home to over 500 AI-related enterprises, with its industry scale exceeding 45 billion yuan ($6.27 billion). By introducing a large number of AI research institutions and companies, the zone has established a comprehensive AI industry ecosystem.
