The Yueju Opera class conducted at Zhongxing sub-district, the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), held its graduation performance on June 10. Over 30 local residents presented a traditional Yueju Opera feast with full enthusiasm, demonstrating the fruitful achievements of community cultural education.
Since its launch, the Yueju Opera class has enjoyed immense popularity among community residents, attracting opera enthusiasts across different age groups. Under the guidance of Zhao Ju, a Yueju Opera performer from the Nantong Art Theatre, residents received comprehensive training in vocal techniques, stage movements, and stage presence.
During the performance, residents performed classic excerpts from The Butterfly Lovers and the classic Chinese novel Dream of the Red Chamber, winning warm applause from the audience with their melodious singing and nuanced emotional expression.
Many participating residents are retirees who have not only enhanced their artistic appreciation through the study of opera but also found renewed vigor on stage.
Moving forward, the sub-district plans to continue launching high-quality courses to enrich the lives of its residents and contribute to building a harmonious community.
