Introduction
- Any member of the staff of the Anhui Museum would be very proud to tell you that the Anhui Museum was the only museum in China that Chairman Mao Zedong (1893-1976), the founding father of the People's Republic of China, ever inspected. The Anhui Museum has an eclectic collection including ancient bronze ware, ancient pictorial bricks, ceramics, metal ware, scholarly accoutrements, traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy, historical documents and rare books, local crafts, and modern arts.
