CNOOC partners with Chinese team to offer free medical examinations in Uganda

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and the 22nd batch of the Chinese (Yunnan) medical team on Aug 22 jointly launched a three-day free medical examination event in Uganda's Buhuka community, where the Kingfisher oil field project is located.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from the Ugandan Ministry of Health, the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, and local administrative and health authorities of Kikuube district.

The free medical examination is themed on making life healthier and creating a brighter future. Five people of the Chinese medical aid team and 18 CNOOC medical workers held health training and lectures and conducted medical examinations as well as counseling services, which ranged from gastroenterology, general surgery, traditional Chinese acupuncture, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and the measurement of health indicators like blood sugar and blood pressure, in local language in collaboration with Ugandan health workers.
