LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. officially put its Intelligent Manufacturing Base into operation in the Suzhou High-tech Zone on Oct 9. Covering around 4.4 hectares, the facility undertakes the manufacturing, testing, quality inspection and delivery of energy storage products for industrial, commercial and public utility markets at home and abroad, reinforcing LONGi's large-scale manufacturing and global delivery system for energy storage.
The launch represents a major move to extend the all-stack LONGi ONE strategy to manufacturing, and provides solid support for integrated solar and energy storage development and global business expansion.
The base centers on three product lines: utility-scale energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, and off-grid and microgrid energy storage to meet diverse market demands. Its utility-scale energy storage assembly line is set to achieve an annual integration capacity of 31 gigawatt-hours in October 2026, with further expansion to 50 GWh in the first half of 2027. The industrial and commercial energy storage line is expected to turn out more than 10,000 units annually by the end of October.
Digital and intelligent transformation underpins the base's manufacturing upgrade. It plans to fully roll out and upgrade its MES system between September and November to build a lightweight Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) platform integrating MES, BI and AI. The platform links core business systems including ERP, WMS and RCS to enable automatic release of production schedules, full-chain material traceability, real-time equipment monitoring and visualized lean KPI tracking under QCDSM standards.
Equipped with AGV intelligent scheduling, digital warehousing and iTPM predictive equipment maintenance, the base adopts closed-loop digital quality management to cut the cycle for resolving quality issues by over 50 percent.
Three key AI application scenarios are deployed on site:
• Intelligent process execution: Electronic Standard Operating Procedure (ESOP) guidance achieves an accuracy rate of over 99 percent and halves the training period for new employees.
• Intelligent quality inspection: AI full inspection replaces selective manual checks, lifting testing efficiency 5 to 10 times and keeping the non-conformity omission rate below 0.1 percent.
• Intelligent equipment maintenance: An AI knowledge base, or the enterprise "fault brain", shortens troubleshooting time by more than 60 percent and reduces losses caused by equipment downtime by 75 percent.
AR on-site guidance and early AI quality warning will also be introduced to deepen smart manufacturing applications.
The facility applies lean management and the Kaizen continuous improvement mechanism alongside 5S visual management to optimize production layouts and tact time, improve operational efficiency and sharpen cost competitiveness. This drives manufacturing management to shift from experience-based to data-driven operation.
She Haifeng, vice-president of LONGi and CEO of LONGi Energy Storage, said the partnership between LONGi and PotisEdge combines their respective strengths in solar power and energy storage. Under the LONGi ONE solar-storage integration strategy, LONGi Energy Storage is moving from simple equipment combination to systematic integration via unified design, control, platforms and services, to enhance system safety, efficiency and intelligence and deliver greater full-lifecycle value for clients.
Backed by the new manufacturing hub, LONGi Energy Storage will continue R&D on the safety, efficiency, service life and intelligence of energy storage systems. Drawing on LONGi's global marketing, channel and service network, it will accelerate its footprint in key markets including Europe, North America, the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, and strengthen local sales, technical support and project delivery capacity.
Upholding technological innovation, product quality and long-term thinking, LONGi Energy Storage aims to deliver reliable technologies, products and services for the development of new power systems and the global energy transition.
