On Sunday, the modern Peking Opera Red Sorghum was staged at Beijing’s Mei Lanfang Theatre as part of the 7th National Ethnic Minority Arts Festival. Adapted from Nobel laureate Mo Yan’s novel, the production uses an elegant, grand theatrical style to celebrate the deep-rooted Chinese spirit of love for country and family.
