The Conference on Zhu Xi's Philosophy and Dialogue Among Diverse Civilizations will be held from Oct 17 to 18 in Nanping, Fujian province.

Zhu Xi (1130-1200), a Confucian scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), systematized Neo-Confucian thought. Fujian is regarded as the cradle of Zhu Xi's philosophy, which remains a subject of study in areas such as social governance, personal cultivation, and the development of civilizations.

The conference will bring together about 100 overseas participants, including scholars in Confucian philosophy and Zhu Xi's philosophy, representatives from cities with a focus on preserving Chinese cultural traditions, and descendants of Zhu Xi.

The event will feature keynote speeches, the launch of an encyclopedia of Zhu Xi, and four parallel forums. Competitions, seminars, academic field trips, and cultural tours will also be held.

The conference will be hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the International Confucian Association, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
