What can a piece of jade tell us about the origins of Chinese civilization?

The jade cong is one of the most iconic creations of the Liangzhu people. At the Jade Cong: A Chronicle exhibition at the Liangzhu Museum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, marking the 90th anniversary of the discovery of the Liangzhu archaeological site, 124 cong and cong-style objects have traveled across thousands of years and miles to return to where the jade cong emerged.

From a jade bangle worn as an ornament to one of China's earliest cross-regional symbols of shared identity, the cong offers a striking glimpse into the formation of a unified yet diverse Chinese civilization.

Dates: Until Nov 29
