Shaanxi Technology Trading Conference opens in Xi'an

The 2026 Shaanxi Technology Trading Conference kicked off in Xi'an on September 10, bringing together universities, businesses and investment institutions to accelerate technology commercialization and foster new quality productive forces.

Co-hosted by the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the China Democratic League, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Shaanxi Provincial Intellectual Property Administration, the conference focuses on connecting research with industry and turning technological advances into practical applications.

With artificial intelligence as a key focus, the conference promotes the efficient matching of new technologies, products and application scenarios. It also seeks to deepen the integration of innovation, industrial, capital and talent chains, supporting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology.

Four keynote speeches were delivered by experts at the opening session. Shi Guangming, deputy director of Pengcheng Laboratory and professor at Xidian University, shared insights on AI and intelligent industries. Li Jingchun, a member of the Innovation-Driven Development Committee of the China Institute of Communications, talked about empowering the information and communications sector through innovation. Nie Junyu, chief expert on the digital economy at Huawei Public Affairs Corps, elaborated on how intelligent computing centers fuel industrial growth. Hu Tianqi, assistant president of the Shanghai Technology Exchange, shared practices in using technology factor markets to support high-quality regional development.

Two important lists were unveiled at the ceremony: the 2026 Shaanxi List of Application Scenario Demands in the Electronic Information Sector and the 2026 Shaanxi List of Major Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Electronic Information Sector.

Forty organizations, including Xi'an Lanliang Nuclear Electronic Instruments Co Ltd, Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications and the Shaanxi Future Science and Technology Development Foundation, signed deals covering technology transactions, university-industry collaboration and ecosystem partnership.

The conference’s one-year incubation program has helped 113 entities secure technology cooperation agreements, with the total value of transactions reaching 270 million yuan ($40.24 million).

The two-day event features roadshows for 15 high-quality projects in electronic information and artificial intelligence, as well as two themed matchmaking sessions on AI-enabled additive manufacturing and intellectual property commercialization.

An exhibition also presents innovative products and research outcomes from nearly 50 universities, research institutes and enterprises, including China Mobile Shaanxi Branch and Xi’an Tianyi Zhifei Technology Group.

Nearly 300 participants from more than 10 universities, over 100 enterprises and 20 investment and technology transfer institutions nationwide attended the conference.
