Xi'an Jiaotong University contributes to establishment of intl institute

The Kyrgyz-China Institute of Outstanding Engineers, built by Xinjiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJU), and Kyrgyz State Technical University, was inaugurated on Aug 30 in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The institute features key enterprises from China and Kyrgyzstan focused on green mining and smart energy, aiming to deliver cross-border joint training for outstanding engineering talents.

Huai Jinpeng, minister of education, delivered a video address at the inauguration ceremony, applauding the institute's establishment and expressing expectations that it would cultivate internationally oriented engineering talents to bolster cultural exchanges and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Yan Junjie, vice-president of XJU, said the institute marks a key step in XJU's cultivation of international engineering talent. Utilizing its strengths in education and experience in building the institute, it will offer high‑quality courses and faculty resources, promote faculty‑student exchanges, and build the academy into a demonstration platform for China‑Kyrgyzstan industry-education integration, as well as a talent hub for the Belt and Road Initiative.

Gulzat Isamallatova, head of Kyrgyzstan's Science, Higher Education, and Innovation Ministry, presented a donation certificate and a letter of appreciation to XJU, thanking the university for its commitment and contributions in exporting high‑quality educational resources, building a practical talent‑training system, and developing university‑enterprise cooperation platforms.

XJU will keep refining a distinctive, specialized engineering talent‑training system for Central Asia, and develop the academy into a demonstration platform for higher‑education cooperation under the SCO, contributing to the China‑Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership and building a China‑Central Asia community with a shared future.
