Looking ahead to highlights of 2026 TELC forum

The 2026 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum (TELC) is set to take place from Sept 4 to 5 in Taiyuan, Shanxi province. This year's forum will feature an opening ceremony and high-level meetings, five international conferences, seven parallel forums, six thematic activities, and various supporting events, highlighting China's progress in energy transition over the past decade.

The forum will combine a retrospective of the past 10 years with a forward-looking perspective on the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), organizing a series of activities to this end. The opening ceremony and high-level meetings will invite leaders from hosting ministries and China's Special Envoy for Climate Change to address global concerns on low-carbon energy.

The event will also feature international roundtable discussions and the "Energy Low-Carbon" dialogue, uniting diplomats from different nations, representatives from international organizations, and both domestic and international experts. These sessions will explore energy transition trends, innovative energy technologies, and regional cooperation opportunities.

To date, over 120 international guests have confirmed their attendance, including foreign dignitaries, leaders from Shanxi's sister provinces and states, ambassadors to China from the UK, Australia, Belarus, and Lebanon, as well as officials from international organizations like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the World Energy Council.

During the forum, key reports and guidelines will be unveiled, such as the guide for major energy technology projects and key R&D projects, the China Enterprises Carbon Neutrality Contribution Report, and the Top 500 Global New Energy Enterprises Competitiveness Analysis Report, aiming to facilitate the implementation of high-quality projects and advanced technologies in Shanxi.
