Q: I'm a citizen of Kyrgyzstan and I've heard that China offers visa-free transit for my country. I need to travel to China for work and stay for about a month. Can I use this policy for my trip?

A: Sorry, you can't. The 240-hour visa-free transit policy allows you to stay for up to 10 days (240 hours) for non-work purposes only, and it comes with two conditions:

1.You must be transiting to a third country or region, for example, flying from Kyrgyzstan → China → Malaysia. You cannot enter China and then return directly to your home country.

2.The policy applies to travelers engaging in short-term activities such as tourism, business, visits and family reunions.

For a one-month work stay, in your case, this policy is not applicable. Work activities require a proper work visa (Z-visa) obtained before you arrive in China.
