Qingdao FTZ, Inspur Cloud partner to boost cross-border digital trade

The Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Qingdao FTZ) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Inspur Cloud, a subsidiary of tech firm Inspur Group, to develop new models of cross-border digital trade.

The partnership, signed on Aug 21, will focus on emerging fields such as cross-border data flows, incoming data processing, overseas computing services and the international expansion of large model services.

Under the agreement, the partners will build northern China's first cross-border "Token Factory", providing full-stack computing infrastructure, large-model capabilities, and security and compliance support. Built on a trusted data space, the platform will enable unified management of computing resources, access to multiple large models, standardized token metering and pricing, and cross-border settlement.

The initiative is expected to lower barriers for overseas clients, Chinese companies expanding internationally and individual creators looking to access AI services, while providing standardized, cost-effective and compliant computing and token services for cross-border AI providers.

Looking ahead, the two sides will work to promote the AI-enabled transformation of Shandong's manufacturing sector and foster new forms of integrated goods and digital trade.
