Bronze tricycle-like plate decorated with twin beasts from over 2,000 years ago

This "tricycle" is actually an ancient washbasin. It was a bronze daily-use object from the late Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) in the State of Wu. Its three-wheeled design and a pair of beasts with wings and intricate scale patterns turn an everyday act like washing hands into something surprisingly ceremonial and fun.
