Gold crown witnesses Southwest China's luxurious burial

This luxurious gold crown adorned with gemstones was made during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) for the wife of the Yang chieftain (Tusi) of Bozhou (ancient name for Zunyi city). It features a jewel-studded floral ornament at its center. Five phoenix-like birds hang above, each holding a string of decorations in its beak, cascading like a shimmering curtain.
Unearthed from the tomb of the Yang chieftain in Zunyi, Guizhou province, this exquisite gold crown is now housed in the Guizhou Provincial Museum.
